What happens when a young woman who has her whole life ahead of her meets an older man who is certain of his death?
Riya is 25, stuck in a job she hates, while holding onto a dream of revolutionizing education (with no one to talk to). Sri is 58, living with late-stage Parkinson’s, and somehow more alive than anyone you’ve ever met. What begins as a strange, unsolicited phone call becomes the thing that finally teaches her how to be whole, even while feeling broken.
1000 Days of Love answers the questions we spend our whole lives avoiding: what does unconditional love actually look like? How do you give someone joy, when all you feel is your pain? And, is human suffering… optional?

About the author
5 years in the making
I’m Soundarya, and this is the book I wanted to write before I die.
I’ve written two books before. Admitted helped thousands of students navigate studying abroad. Unshackled, co-written with an immigration lawyer, became a guide for skilled immigrants in America trying to make sense of a broken system. Along the way, I built one of the largest communities for legal immigrants.
This book is different. It’s fiction, but it’s the truest thing I’ve written. It started as a single journal entry five years ago after I met Rajesh Setty, my godfather. Two years, four continents, and five drafts later, here we are.
